For Those of You Who "Support" our Troops...
Short and sweet, this is a letter given to Laura Ingraham by Dave Rockwell, who is currently deployed in Iraq. If you support our troops, please take to heart what this 60 year-old warrior has to say.

It's easy to put a "yellow ribbon" sticker on the back of your SUV. It's another thing to stand up and counter the "patriotic dissent" from those who don't see the effects of their "dissent." Thanks, "Rocky," here at the UL's cave, we're with you 1000%.

Patriotic dissent isn't allowed? No more free speech in America any more? What a pity.
I will agree that it's difficult to say you support the troops but don't support the war, but it's a heckuva lot better than what our nation went through in the 60s when people blamed the soldiers for the government's failings.
The way I look at it: soldiers are fighting for us overseas. I may not agree with why they're there, but they don't have a choice and they're doing their jobs to the best of their abilities. If not, their lives hang on the line. That's a job and situation that I respect, and I understand it. But I won't lie and pay lipservice to a war I can't agree with.
Note: I did agree with our going in there initially. I just feel it's time to pull out now.

To all:
Honest patriotic dissent does not characterize the current dissent. The question that keeps popping in my mind is why the dearth of good news of what's happening in Iraq? If you talk to the majority of the soldiers in that theater, they would say that much good is accomplished and they would give many reasons why and list the accomplishments. They don't downplay the challenges, but they will give specifics as to why we are winning. Because of the lack of information we have, it is common for our soldiers to voice dismay at the disparity of viewpoints: theirs in Iraq and ours under the information tyranny of MSM.
My beef is that freedom of speech does not give the right for anyone to say anything that put's our soldiers in danger, our nation in danger, or muddy or obfuscate what is actually happening just because they disagree. I may have the freedom to lie, but there are laws against purgery, false advertizing, and misrepresentation. It may hinder our free speech, but we cannot say anything we want though it brings harm to others. We have a right to know the truth that is critical to our well-being. Therefore, those that communicate have a duty to tell the truth. When they do not, or give us the perception that does NOT represent what is actually happening, they are harming us, especially if what they are saying is crucial to our wellbeing. They do not have the right to tell falsehoods, or misrepresent the situation, or withhold information that is crucial to our wellbeing.
So, (taking a breath)this is why I am raging inside. I am mad as hell!! I am PAST the point of anger!!!! I am in total disgust with what is happening!!!!
Do you know that this fall we will put people in place to make policy decisions in our government based on what we hear through the MSM? If the MSM has its way with our minds, we could be replacing men and women based on false pretenses and emotional reactions rather than the actualities that exist.
This is why I ask, no I beseech those that read this blog...SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH!!!! FALLACIES, RHETORIC AND INNUENDO DO NOT COMMUNICATE TRUTH. THEY ARE MANIPULATIVE DEVICES TO GET YOU TO DO WHAT THEY WANT. THE MSM DOESN'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOU PERSONALLY. KATIE COURIC DOESN'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOU!!!! YOU ARE A MEANS TO AN END!! THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS!! YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A TIC IN A POLL NUMBER!!! YOU ARE SIMPLY CATTLE THEY HERD TOGETHER TO "POLL" SO THAT THEY HAVE "NEWS."
By all means, search for the truth. It may piss you off, but it will set you free from your dependance on the tyranny of the MSM machine!!!!

I have been amazed that Muslims have what appears to be unlimited numbers of followers who are willing to commit suicide while killing innocent men, women and children to support their cause. More amazing to me is the increasing number of our citizens (who apparently have very short attention spans) that are buying this politically inspired fiction that flys in the face of all reason and fact. I guess if you say it loud enough and long enough people really will believe "Chicken Little." Most scary is that when you step back and really look at it the TERRORISTS will win! They are loyal to their religious leaders . . . generals . . . and will remain dedicated to the mission in the face of all adversity. Their leaders know (and have stated it over and over) if they stay the course the free world will give up due to implosion. It will be interesting to see how the moveon.org crowd will blame the Republicans for the next round of terrorist hits on American soil.
I give you this brilliant Arab voice to ponder. She has had numerous death threats for her comments below.
