Has Anyone Heard More About This...?

Muslims Riot over No-Nudes Playboy

This I just came across, but haven't seen elsewhere. Usually when a religious group...say CHRISTIAN, protests immorality in the culture and media, they are called right wingnuts, bigoted, ignorant, hyper-fundamentalists, homophobic, etc. When Muslims do it, .... (crickets chirping).

So, someone, correct me if I'm wrong. I don't want to be cynical about the media. Tell me other news agencies have poked at this Indonesian Islamic group...

The Specter in the Media

"We know how to destroy people," Mr. Stern said, according to a person reading a transcript of the meeting. "It's what we do. We do it without creating liability. That's our specialty."

Hmmm, ever wonder about the character of some who are fiduciaries of information? I do. I don't assert that all media people are malicious, but in the Robertson/Weiner and Rashbaum article in the New York Times one could come to some preliminary conclusions. People like Mr. Stern at the NYPost exist, whether liberal or conservative.

How can we be sure of the things we read? What do you do to make sure you're not being hoodwinked?

Impeachment Party Cancelled...Another Dull Friday Night

CNN Flubs Plamegate Leak

And I was all set to partay! Then whataya know, CNN blew it. You just can't depend on these people to get it straight.

What do I do with all this champaigne? I'll save it for tomorrow. You never know, the MSLM may find news validating impeachment tomorrow!

What Will Richard Engel Report Now?

Well folks, we may see more lay-offs in the Mainstream Liberal Media (MSLM) with less and less bad news out there, unless they do the hard work of finding some of the good news out there:

Iraq Car-bombings Down

I think this is incredibly good news for the Iraqis and our soldiers, but I didn't hear this information in the MSLM. This type of news deals with percentages and stuff that news organizations just love to crunch when it comes to polling data about Bush; they consider low approval ratings for Bush to be "good news." Now, they can keep journalists' jobs in place and can report real good news from their hotel balconies in Baghdad.

And the Democrats Plan for Security Is....?

You'll find this op-ed by Fred Hiatt in the WaPost interesting. A rather hard hitting analysis of the Democrats plan for security. You'll find it quite...narrow:

Democrats Security Plan

It's easy to knock the Bush Admin. plan for security, but when it's time to put up, well, they might as well shut-up!
